Stress is a big factor for today’s teens and can actually lead to more serious conditions such as depression. Many teens today can cope with their problems in constructive ways, however, there are some that can’t cope appropriately and become depressed. They can become pessimistic about life in general and this can cause harmful long term results.
If teens experience feelings of becoming overly frustrated, always experiencing tension, worry and becoming overly sad, they may want to seek counseling, because this can potentially lead to more extreme feelings such as worthlessness and depression. Seeking help is extremely important in the case of severe stress or depression because these are the number one reasons for suicide or attempted suicide in teenagers.
