Factors that Affect how People Handle Stress

There many factors that may affect how quickly a person experiences stress and their ability to handle it. Some factors that may predispose a person to stress are genetics, physical health, or environment. For example, a person born with parents who are depressed, have high anxiety and are constantly stressed may have a chance of them suffering from the same.

Physical health is another predisposition of stress. Like, when a child is born with physical disorder. This can cause stress in someone because of how society may look at them and accept them. Environment is another factor that plays in the predisposition of a person’s stress. One may be born into an abusive family or a family who struggles on a daily basis to eat. All these are factors that may predispose a person to stress and their tolerance.

The good news it that therapy may be able to lower your stress, regardless of what has happened to you in your life.
