People Handle Stress Differently

People Handle Stress Differently

Stress is very powerful and can take over someone’s wellbeing. Stress is caused by many factors, whether it is personal or environmental. It can cause health issues and our capability to live life. People have different ways of coping with stress and others have higher levels of stress tolerance. Stress tolerance is a person’s ability to handle and deal with stress factors without having it affect their everyday life functioning.

For example, someone may tolerate work stress better than someone else while working at fast-paced job. In life, there are several stress factors that automatically exceeds one’s tolerance. The cause of someone’s death, divorce, new job, loss of job, career change, moving, etc. are just a few examples of what someone may go through that may exceed someone’s stress tolerance.

Some people stress a lot for anything and like everything to be perfect. For some people, working a full time job and going to college may cause them to bad behavior, physical issues (weight gain, heart disease, etc.) and out of control emotions (feeling depressed, sad, nervous or scared).

A person may behave or be affected differently depending on the level of stress. Overall, stress is something that all people encounter. Some learn to deal with some stress better than others. Stress can affect each person differently since no two people encounter the same stressors. It is important to learn how to manage stress since stress is the number one leading cause for heart attacks and heart problems. Stress is the primary cause of all health related problems. Some ways to help manage stress is exercise, sleep, eat healthier, time management, etc. and also identifying some sources of stress to try to minimize the stress. Getting therapy or counseling can help you identify the sources of your stress and hopefully help you feel better.

How do you deal with stress?
